Parachute Packers of WWII training notes!

All my posts seem to be of a military flavour at the moment but I do sell loads of other interesting and more peaceful items!

But I couldn’t resist this fascinating RAF exercise book (just like an old school book) with written along the top “L/Wren M Howard 37199 Conversion Course”. Inside is 3/4 full with her notes on a course to learn how to pack parachutes, a forgotten but vitally important skill (especially if you were a pilot or other aircrew). If you look on other internet sites, you will see that this was carried out by all manner of people. I assume this woman was in the Fleet Air Arm, but carrying out a cross service course.

There were several different types of parachute they had to learn about, from Pilot CII type through Parasuits(?), to those parachutes used to drop supplies. This book is currently on auction in my ebay store, and may be a nice item for further research.
