A fascinating item came to me a few weeks ago which looks to have been stuck away in a drawer untouched for many years. It came as a Bondor stocking box from around the 1930s and it contained two nice sequinned evening bags and a black Moire purse. Contained in the purse were a few halved dance tickets for the Dartford area, St Albans Hall and Church Hall 1938!
It looks as though these were worn at the “do’s” and then possibly the war intervened and the bags and contents were forgotten in a drawer somewhere and only retrieved after the owner died? I wonder what story these items would have to tell?
Also they make nice additions to a collection of handbags and apart from the odd small fault are in excellent condition, just click here to view in more detail in Reynard Collectables ebay store.
