A couple of fascinating WW2 period items just listed by Reynard Collectables are an RAF aircrew folder of course notes and also a notebook of training notes for a Post Office counter employee in 1943.
The Post Office book also contains loads of sample forms of the period (1943 Brighton), giving an insight in to how the procedures and forms have changed in almost 70 years. It covers all manner of tasks from postal, pension payments, cheques/postal orders, postal censorship etc. One for the postal anorak and no less fascinating for that!
The RAF notes are a bit more WW2 mainstream but quite scarce to find in this detail with printed lecture notes for subjects such as Bombing (theory and procedure including a nice diagram of “The trajectory of the Ideal Bomb”!), Engines, Guns (20mm Hispano, Vickers), Meteorology, Map Reading and Navigation, Hygiene & Sanitation, Ammunition etc. Also has some loose sheets of aircraft silhouettes for the student (LAC PH Tupper) to practise their aircraft recognition!
