Doing an internet search for “The Bulldozer magazine” quite rightly brings up listings for magazines about Bulldozers (who buys these!!?), but I have just come across three issues of a WWII magazine of this name. It was produced by Allied Combined Operations (made up of the best expertise in RAF, Navy and the Army) which was set up by Winston Churchill in 1940 and was seemingly responsible for most of the large scale planning of the offensive against the German occupied territories.
These three fascinating magazines from 1943/44 contain a mix of war related articles (a bomb blast photographed for the first time, letter from General Eisenhower etc.), letters, jokes/cartoons and HQ sports results. It also contains one of the main weapons used to boost moral in the use of the strip cartoon “Jane” (never was the word “strip” more apt), with each of the issue having one of these famous cartoons on the back cover. There were also dedicated Jane Annuals produced during wartime based on the drawings of “Pett” who was Jane’s creator, but these are scarce items which I have sold in the past a soon as they were advertised.
Anyway these fascinating magazines are available in the Reynard Collectables ebay store here.
